Shivani is better known as Parvati (or Gauri) and is a Hindu goddess. Shivani is Shakti, the wife of Shiva and the gentle aspect of Mahadevi, the Great Goddess. Shivani is considered to be complete incarnation of Adi Parashakti, with all other goddesses being her incarnations or manifestations.<\/p>\n

The accolade is dedicated to an ancient Indian philosopher, Gargi Vachaknavi (c. 7th century BCE), who is celebrated as the earliest known female philosopher in India. She is revered for her profound interpretations of timeless wisdom found in Vedic literature. Notably, she engaged in a philosophical debate where she fearlessly challenged the prominent male sage Yajnavalkya, marking her as the sole female to undertake such an endeavor. It is also believed that Gargi Vachaknavi authored numerous hymns in the Rigveda.<\/span><\/p>\n

    This award recognizes Yoginis who have been consistently practicing yoga for many years and contributing to the well-being of society through their practice. Those with a minimum of ten years of experience are eligible for the state-level award, and those with more than fifteen years of practice qualify for the national-level award.<\/p>\n

    The nomination process begins on November 1 and closes on December 31.
    In January, scrutiny of applications takes place first at the state level and then at the national level. After the evaluation, shortlisted candidates are interviewed before the final list is announced. Once the names are published, registration and invitation procedures begin for the award ceremony.<\/p>\n

    It also builds a vibrant network from local to international levels, helping Yoginis connect for collaboration, growth, and happiness. The conference, held annually in different regions of India, fosters cultural exchange, regional bonding, and unity among Yoginis.
