This prestigious ceremony is dedicated to honoring and celebrating the remarkable contributions of Female Yoga Teachers and Practitioners across the country. Please take note of the following categories under which you can submit your nomination.

Shivani Award (Life time achievements)
Shivani is better known as Parvati (or Gauri) and is a Hindu goddess. Shivani is Shakti, the wife of Shiva and the gentle aspect of Mahadevi, the Great Goddess. Shivani is considered to be complete incarnation of Adi Parashakti, with all other goddesses being her incarnations or manifestations.

Gargi Award (Special Research)
The accolade is dedicated to an ancient Indian philosopher, Gargi Vachaknavi (c. 7th century BCE), who is celebrated as the earliest known female philosopher in India. She is revered for her profound interpretations of timeless wisdom found in Vedic literature. Notably, she engaged in a philosophical debate where she fearlessly challenged the prominent male sage Yajnavalkya, marking her as the sole female to undertake such an endeavor. It is also believed that Gargi Vachaknavi authored numerous hymns in the Rigveda.

Yogini Award (Long time practitioner)
Yogini (Sanskrit: योगिनी, IAST: yoginī) is a female master practitioner of tantra and yoga, as well as a formal term of respect for female Hindu or Buddhist spiritual teachers in Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Greater Tibet.
Shivani Award (Life time achievements)
Criteria:
This award is conferred upon women who have dedicated their entire lives to yoga and are above 60 years of age. It is a lifetime achievement recognition presented once at the national level and once at the international level.
Gargi Award (Special Research)
Criteria :
This award is given to Yoginis engaged in research in the field of yoga. At the state level, nominees must have at least five published research papers; at the national level, they must have at least ten publications.
Yogini Award (Long time practitioner)
Criteria:
This award recognizes Yoginis who have been consistently practicing yoga for many years and contributing to the well-being of society through their practice. Those with a minimum of ten years of experience are eligible for the state-level award, and those with more than fifteen years of practice qualify for the national-level award.

Gonika Award (Institutional Yogini)
Gonika (Sanskrit: गोनिका) Maharshi is the mother of patanjali. she was a sage in ancient Tamilakam, thought to be the author of a number of Sanskrit and Tamil works. The greatest of these are the Yoga Sutras, a classical yoga text.

Maitrayi Award (Yoga well wishers)
Maitreyi (Sanskrit: मैत्रेयी) (“friendly one”) was an Indian philosopher who lived during the later Vedic period in ancient India. … Maitreyi appears in ancient Indian texts, such as in a dialogue where she explores the Hindu concept of Atman (soul or self) in a dialogue with Yajnavalkya in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad.
Gonika Award (Institutional Yogini)
Criteria :
The Gonic Award is presented to Yoginis who manage their own yoga centers, studios, or spiritual training institutes. Institutions operating for ten years are eligible for the state-level recognition, while those running for more than fifteen years are honored at the national level.
Maitrayi Award (Yoga well wishers)
Criteria:
This award honors women who may not be full-time yoga practitioners but actively promote yoga for personal health and social awareness. They dedicate their time, support, and encouragement to the promotion of yoga.
Yogini Award Selection Process
The nomination process begins on November 1 and closes on December 31.
In January, scrutiny of applications takes place first at the state level and then at the national level. After the evaluation, shortlisted candidates are interviewed before the final list is announced. Once the names are published, registration and invitation procedures begin for the award ceremony.
